RELX Infinity Pod Compatibility: Identify the Device and Pod Version

Every document cited on this page — the manufacturer’s product pages and this store’s own product records — was read on 17 September 2026, and the reading dates are listed again with the sources at the end.
The single most useful thing to know about RELX pod compatibility is that the manufacturer’s own Pod Pro page does not give one answer. Its specification block names the Infinity 2 Plus, the Essential 2 and the Artisan Plus. Its product subtitle says the pods are for “RELX Infinity, RELX Artisan & RELX Essential Device”. Its social and search descriptions say “Compatible with Infinity & Essential.” Three statements, one page, and they do not carve up the devices the same way. That is why the reliable check is not the word “compatible” but the pack in front of you: its printed quantity, its strength and the generation of the device it is going into. This page sets out what each published statement actually says, what this store lists, and how to settle the item in your hand.
What “RELX Infinity pod” can mean
The phrase is used loosely and it covers more than one product. RELX sells pod families that differ in coil material: the manufacturer’s own Pod Pro page separates Pod Pro, which it says uses ceramic coils and optimised leak resistance, from the original Pod, which it says uses cotton coils. The devices those families belong to are different generations too — a first-generation Infinity, an Infinity 2 Plus and an Essential 2 are three separate products with three separate published figures.
Retail listings add a second layer of blur. Several tell you a pod is “compatible with RELX pods” and stop. That sentence does not say which device generation it was written for, whether the pod inside is Pod Pro or original Pod, or how many pods are in the box. Those are the three things that decide whether an order is right, and all three can be checked before paying.
The RELX generation map
Each row below is a generation or line that a named source records. The identifying figure matters more than the marketing name, because it is the part a buyer can verify.
| Line | Recorded identifying figure | Recorded on |
|---|---|---|
| RELX Infinity, first generation | 380mAh battery, USB Type-C, about 45 minutes to charge, draw activated, 112 x 23 x 10 mm, kit contents one device plus one USB Type-C charger plus one manual | Manufacturer device review, published 25 November 2020 |
| RELX Infinity 2 Plus | Three adjustable output modes (Eco, Smooth, Boost) and a charge reaching 80% in about 15 minutes; six colour variants | Manufacturer product page, 17 Sep 2026 |
| RELX Essential 2 | 380mAh battery, USB-C charging, symmetrical pod design; manufacturer names its compatible pods as RELX Pod and RELX Pod Pro | Manufacturer product page, 17 Sep 2026 |
| RELX Artisan Plus | Described by the manufacturer as compatible with the full range of flavour pods for Infinity and Phantom | Manufacturer product page, 17 Sep 2026 |
| RELX Creator Pro | A separate device line with its own pod family (Creator Pod), listed separately from the Infinity lines | Manufacturer storefront index, 17 Sep 2026 |
Two figures in that table need care. The first-generation Infinity and the Essential 2 are both published at 380mAh, so battery capacity alone does not separate them; the Essential 2 also publishes USB-C charging and a symmetrical pod design. The cleaner separators are the charge and output descriptions: adjustable three-mode output belongs to the Infinity 2 Plus, and the 45-minute charge figure belongs to the first generation.
The manufacturer’s current storefront index, read on the same date, lists Infinity 2 Plus, Artisan Plus, Artisan, Essential 2, Creator Pro, SPIN 2in1 and MAXGO Ultra devices. It does not list the first-generation Infinity device, while Infinity accessories are still listed. That is what the index shows on that date; it is not a formal statement about production.
What the manufacturer’s own Pod Pro page actually says
This is the table that changes a purchase, because it is the point where the customer’s only obvious signal — the word “compatible” — stops being decisive.
| Statement | Where it appears | Devices it names |
|---|---|---|
| Compatible Vape Device | Specification block on the manufacturer’s Pod Pro page | RELX Infinity 2 plus, RELX Essential 2, RELX Artisan plus |
| Product subtitle | Same manufacturer page, beneath the product title | RELX Infinity, RELX Artisan, RELX Essential |
| Social and search description | Same manufacturer page, page metadata | Infinity, Essential |
| Compatible pods for the Essential 2 | Manufacturer’s Essential 2 device page | RELX Pod and RELX Pod Pro |
| Infinity platform as a whole | A third-party retailer platform page, not the manufacturer | Devices: Infinity, Infinity 2, Infinity 2 Plus, Artisan Plus. Pods: Pod Pro 2, Ultra Pod. It also states the Infinity and Creator platforms are not mutually compatible. |
Read the first three rows together. The specification block speaks in series numbers. The subtitle speaks in family names and includes “Infinity” without a series number. The metadata names two families and drops Artisan. A buyer holding a first-generation Infinity can read the first row and conclude that their generation is not covered, then read the second row and conclude that it is.
Those statements cannot be reconciled from the outside, and none of the sources checked here states that the combination fails. The third-party page, which does name the first-generation Infinity, gives no method or date for its compatibility claim and is not a manufacturer document. So the honest position is narrower than either extreme: the manufacturer’s own wording points in more than one direction, and the decisive check is the physical pack. That is what the next two sections are for.
How to identify the device in your hand
- Use the charge and output description, not the colour. Three adjustable output modes identify the Infinity 2 Plus line. A published charge time of about 45 minutes with draw activation identifies the first-generation Infinity. USB-C charging with a symmetrical pod design identifies the Essential 2.
- Compare the recorded kit contents. The first-generation Infinity is published with one device, one USB Type-C charger and one manual. If a device arrives with different contents, the generation is not the one that description was written for.
- Do not use colour as the identifier. The manufacturer’s published colour list for the first generation is Black, silver, red and gold, and the Infinity 2 Plus page lists six colour variants. Colour varies within a generation more than it varies between generations.
How to identify the pod before you order
A pod listing carries three fields that matter, and they are almost always visible on the page. Read them in this order.
- Pack size. The manufacturer’s Pod Pro page records two pods per pack. Pack size is a printed property of the product, not a preference, and it is the field that answers a search for a single pod — see below.
- Nicotine strength. The manufacturer’s Pod Pro page records 18mg/ml variants. Strength belongs to the pod, so it cannot be changed by the device.
- The specification attribute, where the store publishes one. On this store the pod listing carries a Specification attribute set to POD, separate from the device listing‘s Specification attribute set to DEVICE. It is a small field and the fastest way to confirm you are looking at the consumable rather than the hardware.
One figure to treat carefully: the manufacturer records about 500 puffs per pod. That is a manufacturer figure, not a measured result, and it belongs to the same class as any other published puff rating.

What this store lists today
Both records below come from this store’s own product data, read on 17 September 2026, and together they are the whole of its RELX range. They are two separate products — the device does not arrive with a pod in the box.
| Field | RELX Infinity device record | RELX pod record |
|---|---|---|
| Recorded name | RELX Infinity Device Black | Pre-filled pod, two pods per pack, Blueberry |
| Specification attribute | DEVICE | POD |
| Other recorded attributes | Colour: Black; brand: RELX; category: pod systems | Flavour: Blueberry; nicotine strength: 18mg/ml |
| Recorded technical description | 380mAh rechargeable battery, Super Smooth draw technology with air boost, a leak resistance maze and an aluminium unibody | A pre-filled cartridge made for the RELX Infinity closed pod system, inserted into the device and replaced when finished |
The 380mAh figure in this store’s device record matches the manufacturer’s published first-generation Infinity figure, which is a reasonable indication that this listing is the first-generation device rather than a later line. It is an indication rather than a certification: a store record documents what the store sells, and it is not a substitute for the manufacturer’s own specification.
The pod record is where the two classes of evidence part company, and it is worth being plain about it. This store’s pod record states the pod is made for the RELX Infinity closed pod system. The manufacturer’s Pod Pro page names three different device sets across its specification block, its subtitle and its metadata, as the table above shows. Both are recorded here as published. If you are buying the pod to go with the device from this store, you are buying the combination the store documents; if you are matching a pod to a device from elsewhere, treat the manufacturer’s wording as the stronger source and verify the pack.
“Single pod” and pack size: what the listing actually says
People search for a single RELX pod for two different reasons: they want one pod rather than a pack, or they have seen a listing titled around a single pod and want to know what arrives. Only the second has a clean answer.
This store’s RELX pod is recorded as two pods per pack. There is no separate one-pod listing here for this product, and nothing in the record offers a single-unit option. The manufacturer’s Pod Pro page also records two pods per pack. So the practical check is the pack quantity printed in the listing name or description — not the word “pod” in the title, and not the price per item, which varies with pack size by design.
Why there is no refillable Infinity pod
The Infinity line is a closed pod system: the pod contains the coil and the e-liquid and is a sealed unit, which is what separates it from an open system you fill yourself. The manufacturer’s refill guidance states that RELX pods are not designed to be reused or refilled and instructs users not to open or refill a pod. This store’s own pod record describes the same behaviour from the retail side — the pod is inserted into the device and replaced once it is finished, swapped rather than refilled.
So a search for a refillable Infinity pod is looking for a product that does not exist in this line. If refilling is what you want, the relevant choice is a different system category rather than a different RELX pod; the comparison of open and closed pod systems covers that decision. Refilling a sealed pod is not a workaround for it.
Colour, “limited edition” and “latest”: what changes and what does not
Colour and edition naming are variants within a generation. The manufacturer’s Infinity 2 Plus page lists six colour variants of one device, and its published first-generation colour list runs to four: Black, silver, red and gold. A different colour does not make a different generation, and it does not change which pod family belongs to the device.
“Limited edition” is the phrase to handle carefully. Published colour lists are what the manufacturer’s own pages record; nothing in the sources checked here names a first-generation Infinity limited edition, so no such version is described on this page. What can be said is that a badge on a listing does not change the generation, and the generation is what decides the pod. If an offer leans on an edition name, read the specification fields instead.
“Latest” is simpler to answer. In the manufacturer’s current storefront index the Infinity line’s listed devices are the Infinity 2 Plus and the Artisan Plus, and the first-generation Infinity device does not appear. If you are looking for the newest device in the line, that index is the source to check, and this page does not carry a newer one.
Settling the item in hand with the manufacturer’s check
When the generation question still is not resolved — a second-hand device, a gift, a pod from a market stall — the manufacturer publishes a verification route that does not depend on telling pods apart by sight.
- Find the 14-digit code printed on the side of the package, or the QR code on the pod.
- Enter the code on the manufacturer’s verification page, or scan the QR code with a phone camera and let it open the verification page.
- Read the result. A completed check reports the product name, product type, serial number and product code, which is the information needed to match the item to the generation it was made for.
What that check does and does not do is worth stating. It reports what the code belongs to; it does not tell you that a pod is compatible with a device, and it does not replace the manufacturer’s own wording. It is the step that turns “which pod is this actually” from an opinion into a record.
The UAE requirement, stated as a requirement
The UAE adopted the mandatory standard UAE.S 5030 for electronic nicotine products, applied by the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology, whose standardisation functions now sit with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.
This page records the requirement, not the status of any item. It does not verify and does not state the registration or authorisation position of the device or the pod described above, and nothing here should be read as confirming that a product holds a particular approval. Nicotine products are for adults only. If you need an individual product’s status, ask the seller for the documentation rather than relying on a listing description.
How this page was checked
This page is a document comparison, not a test. No device was used, no pod was opened and no measurement was taken for it, so nothing here is a test result and nothing here is a sensory judgement. Two limits are worth stating plainly. This store lists only two RELX products, so only one device-and-pod combination can be shown from its own records. And the manufacturer’s public pages do not publish a pod-by-device matrix covering every generation, which is why the sections above report what each published statement names and leaves out, instead of filling the gaps by inference.
If you already own the RELX Infinity device and pods from this store and your question is about living with them rather than buying a match, the daily use, charging and pod replacement guide covers that separate set of tasks.
